Hi, I’m Gaz.  I left a successful career in luxury automotive design to found Studio Smithery, a commercial photography practice.  As a favour for a good friend who is a DJ, I agreed to photograph a wedding he was playing at and I loved every minute of it.

I loved the quiet nerves and electric excitement before the ceremony.
I loved spending time with the couple and their families, and feeling the love and pride they all shared.
I loved watching old friends reunite.
I loved capturing the dance floor antics as the evening got properly underway.
And I loved delivering images that preserve those significant, yet fleeting moments.

My approach is candid documentary photography, with a bright and fresh edit. However, with a background in commercial design, I am fully adaptable.
